Air Fryer Converter
Enter the oven temperature and time from your recipe to get air fryer settings.
Answer
180°C for 19–21 minutes
The detail
Do not crowd the basket. Food needs space around it for the hot air to work, so cook in batches if you need to. Always check meat is cooked through rather than relying on the time alone.

Reference and detail
Why we give a range
Air fryers vary enormously in size and power, so a single number would be misleading. Start checking at the lower end of the range.
Do not crowd the basket
Air fryers work by moving hot air around the food. If the basket is packed, the food steams instead of crisping. Cook in batches for the best results.
Questions and answers
More questions about air fryer conversions
Why does the same recipe need a lower temperature in an air fryer?
An air fryer circulates hot air more forcefully around the food than a conventional oven, so it cooks faster at the same temperature. Dropping the temperature and shortening the time compensates for this.
Do I need to shake or turn food partway through in an air fryer?
Yes, for most foods, shaking the basket or turning items over halfway helps them brown evenly, since air fryers cook mainly from one direction. Check the food is cooked through before serving, whatever the timer says.
Food safety
Cooking times are a guide only. Ovens, joints and starting temperatures vary, so always check the food is cooked before serving rather than relying on the clock.

Can I convert any oven recipe for the air fryer?
Most dry-heat recipes such as roasting, baking and grilling convert well. Recipes that rely on a large volume of liquid, such as casseroles, do not suit an air fryer basket in the same way.
